What has changed?
WHO’s 26 October update reported nine confirmed cases and two deaths. All cases belonged to one connected group, with no evidence of community spread. The 20 discharged contacts had remained symptom-free and received final health assessments.
THE IMPORTANT DISTINCTION
Monitoring is not the same as treatment.
The people released were contacts under observation, not patients recovering from Ebola. Health authorities urged communities to welcome them home without stigma.

The regional picture
WHO’s 23 October regional report described continued transmission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and imported cases in Kenya and Nigeria. It also reported the launch of the TUMAINI vaccine trial—a research step, rather than an approved vaccine becoming available.
BEFORE YOU SHARE A HEALTH ALERT
Pause. Check. Share responsibly.
Check the source and date. Follow official health updates and contact-tracing instructions. Avoid blaming people who have completed monitoring.
